The Future of Application Development

This is a buzzword to encapsulate the sub-genre of Generative AI technology as it applies to developing software.  We are going to be talking about how the field of Software Development ( or Application Development ) is changing to become more AI driven. There are already a lot of tools out there today to help development teams create applications, requirements, code and tests. However, the work of Practical Application Development involves continuous improvement and the fluid integration of flow, feedback and learning (see The Three Ways of Devops).  Meanwhile, the current state of Gen AI involves a few relevant limitations known as The Context Window and Ambiguity. As our work changes, the detailed implementation of these new tools, and the way we work with their limitations will continuously change our jobs on a day to day basis.
